The season opens on 20th August 2010 followed by a supper afterwards. This is the stage play of the 1980’s BBC © sitcom written by Jeremy Lloyd & David Croft, directed by David W. Owens and produced by Sandi Owens. David & Sandi have produced many successful shows together, some have included; “‘ALLO ‘ALLO!” (staged in 2002), “Are you being Served?” (staged in 2003), “Fawlty Towers”, “Lady Windermere’s Fan”, “The Importance of Being Earnest”, “Pygmalion”, “The Hound of the Baskervilles”,“Death by Chocolate” and most recently their 2010 production of “Are You Being Served?” The show is set in several parts of Café René with occasional crosses to Colonel Von Strohm’s office, Herr Flick’s secret Gestapo headquarters, General Von Schmelling’s office and the back row of the local cinema. The production stars Stefan Kent as René Artois the owner of Café René, Susan Bieniasch as Edith Artois, René’s wife, Brenda Bedewi as Yvette Carte-Blanche, René’s secret lover and waitress at Café René, Jill Larsen as Michelle Debois, the leader of the French Resistance and Yasmin Stenson as Mimi Labonq, René’s secret lover, bodyguard and waitress at Café René. The season for this play is: 20th, 21st, 25th, 27th & 28th August 2010 at 8pm & , Sunday 22nd August 2010 at 2pm. Communications with London using the wireless that is disguised as a cockatoo add to the many embarrassments this intrepid proprietor endures in the company of his patrons. News that the Fuhrer is scheduled to visit the town inspires tricksters disguised as Hitler to frequent the cafe.
