Full Details : No, not just a production, but an event not to be missed, an experience of mythological proportions. That’s right, ‘Hercules – The Panto’ graces The Crete Street Theatre from the 23rd June 2006.
The play revolves around Hercules (the strongest mortal in the world) and his quest to rescue Princess Wanda (the nastiest girl in the kingdom) who has been abducted by Cyclops (the one eyed giant). Wanda has been befriended by a Gryphon (a mythological creature who is half eagle, half lion and unable to fly) who has been set the task of teaching Wanda the value of friendship by Venus (the goddess of love) in exchange for the ability to fly.
Along the way we meet Narcissus (Hercules very vain best friend) who works at his aunt Medussa’s hair salon (the famous lady with snakes for hair), the Fates (who knit our destinies not always that masterfully or carefully), the King (Elvis, of course) and his Guards.
Included in this epic are Wanda’s handmaidens Zoe and Chloe , and Hercules Red Guard.
A collection of Nymphs and Demons, Children and Cheerleaders. With special guest appearance by Belly Dancer Saghirah.
It promises to be a night of laughter, singing, dancing and great entertainment for the whole family.
