The Marvellous Boy
Directed by Rod Chambers
Louis Nowra's "The Marvellous Boy" is a tale of Shakespearean proportions, not only in terms of story telling, but also in terms of Nowra’s masterful, and at times magical and poetic use of language.

Full Details : "The Marvellous Boy" is the second part of Louis Nowra’s Boyce trilogy. Set in Sydney, many of the play’s characters bear a striking resemblance to well-known members of Sydney’s notorious families and figures – the Moran family, Juanita Nielsen, businessman Abe Saffron and his partner Jim Anderson, and property developer Frank Theeman.
In this second part of the trilogy, Malcolm Boyce is dying at a time when his biggest building project—and so his whole empire—is threatened by protesters. He hires an important criminal, the charismatic Ray Pollard, to threaten his enemies. Malcolm gets his son, Luke, to liaise with Ray. Luke not only falls under Ray's spell but also finds himself involved with his father's mistress. The results are tragic.
